The LV Engineering Manager will work within the Engineering Team, reporting to the Global Head of Engineering, and will be responsible for leading the delivery of all commercial LV distribution projects and design globally.
- Day to day management of team workload and project assignments
- Provide effective, timely and appropriate capacity planning and technical support to all departments from tender stage to final test and commission.
- Ensure timely reporting of project task completion through company accepted platform and in line with required project update timelines.
- Ensure accurate tracking of engineering escapes, through company accepted platform.
- Identification of the cause of these escapes and suitable actions to rectify.
- Oversee design of critical power distribution systems, PLC based control panels and energy monitoring systems.
- Oversight of designs, development, debug and testing of electrical circuits and systems by using current tools, analysis techniques, and software technologies
- Leading and guiding the development of the systems under your team’s responsibility and ensuring they function as desired. You will work in close co-operation with other company departments.
- Ensuring design compliance with project specifications, required standards and local regulations.
- Handle technical queries from clients and attend meetings related to commercial project delivery.
- Assist with checks and approvals of electrical designs related to commercial project delivery.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of Hanley Energy LV distribution products and processes, employing Lean principles throughout.
- Identify process deficiencies within the business and suggest improvements.
- Support site services when issues or queries arise on site.
- Contribute to the technical aspects of project submittals.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Engineering, operations, and quality, to achieve project objectives and support overall business goals.
- Responsibility for the BIM function within Hanley Energy including delivery of all BIM projects globally.
- Assist with training of new employees.
- Develop and manage KPIs for all direct reports, and perform Individual Performance Reviews periodically, in line with standard company processes.
Requirements:
- Be degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or similar, preferably MSc Level.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in the Low Voltage Switchgear Industry
- Previous experience of control panel and/or power distribution design.
- Demonstrated success working to prescribed standards.
- Proven experience with Solid Works Electrical or similar electrical design software.
- Experience of managing Low Voltage Design teams in delivery of product portfolio.
- Have excellent communication skills with a professional approach to work and sharp eye for detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to ensure efficient ways of working.
- Proven experience in implementation of Lean design principles
- Driving License and Access to a vehicle
- Willingness to travel if required. (Infrequent)
