Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-line process inspections to verify adherence to approved procedures and work instructions
- Perform final inspections of electrical and mechanical systems, including visual evaluations and wiring checks with the assistance of Team Leads
- Gather inspection data to support departmental continuous improvement efforts
- Collaborate with the Quality Engineer on continuous improvement initiatives by analysing inspection trends and recommending corrective or preventive actions
- Clearly communicate inspection findings and quality concerns to team leaders, assembly teams, and other stakeholders
- Propose and support initiatives aimed at improving inspection efficiency and reducing product defects
- Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed at each stage of the build
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to production, assembly, and engineering teams to drive quality improvements Work in partnership with the training department to identify and address gaps in training or areas for enhancement
- Support a range of quality-related activities, including root cause analysis, non-conformance reviews, quality documentation, and process assessments
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Key Experience and qualifications:
- Experience, Qualifications and Skills
- People management training
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Quality driven with excellent attention to detail to ensure the best-in-class product
- Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc
- Experience of Lean Manufacturing processes
- Ability to travel nationally as required
- Technical knowledge of switchgear components and their functions.
- Ability to read and interpret GA’s and schematics
- Experience with mechanical equipment and tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to record accurate data
