We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Team Lead Electrician for a full-time workshop position at our facility in Stamullen, with occasional travel to our locations in Kingscourt, Monaghan, and Dundalk as required. This is a key leadership role that significantly influences the productivity and success of the production team, driving performance and ensuring high standards across all aspects of our electrical operations.
As the Team Lead Electrician, you will oversee and guide a talented team of electricians (including apprentices and qualified staff), test engineers, and general operators. Your leadership will be critical in maintaining operational excellence, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring timely project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effective Communication: Provide clear and concise communication with the production team, procurement, and stores personnel to ensure smooth operations, address any production demands, quality issues, health & safety concerns, and component shortages.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Lead, mentor, and develop the Stamullen production team, identifying growth opportunities and promoting continuous improvement in skills, teamwork, and performance.
- Production Oversight: Actively oversee and support system builds as per production demand. Ensure quality is maintained through FAT/cFAT processes for electrical panels and systems within the Stamullen facility.
- Team Alignment and Performance Monitoring: Motivate the team to meet and exceed production targets, providing ongoing feedback through toolbox talks, one-on-one meetings, and performance reviews.
- Focus on Quality and Safety: Drive a culture of first-time quality while ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies at all times.
- Equipment Management: Ensure that equipment requiring regular calibration or service is managed effectively to prevent downtime. Track equipment loaned to other sites.
- Conflict Resolution and Team Collaboration: Proactively address and resolve team conflicts, ensuring adherence to established ground rules and fair treatment for all team members. Collaborate with the Production Manager and HR as needed.
- Operational Support: In the absence of the Production Manager, support project managers, coordinate logistics, and provide updates on system ship dates. Additionally, handle weekly payroll TMS reviews and manage holiday requests to ensure production capacity remains optimal.
- Engagement and Team Building: Organize monthly in-house lunches for the production team, fostering team morale and cohesion.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certified Electrician with relevant trade qualifications.
- Extensive experience in panel building, wiring, or similar electrical roles.
- In-depth understanding of electrical schematics and control systems.
- Familiarity with PLC functionality and BMS or HVAC systems (preferred but not essential).
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities to effectively supervise a team.
- Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Experience with switchgear manufacturing is advantageous.
- Knowledge of electrical instrumentation is desirable.
