Controls Commissioning Engineer

We are currently seeking a Controls Commissioning Engineer with a qualified electrician background to join our team in Frankfurt. This site-based role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience in electrical installation and is ready to take the next step into commissioning — overseeing and finalising the deployment of critical electrical systems.

Location: Frankfurt, Germany
Employment Type: Full-time | Site-Based

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute the on-site commissioning, testing, and validation of electrical systems, ensuring full functionality in line with project specifications
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to align commissioning activities with critical project timelines and quality standards
  • Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning phases, ensuring smooth system handover to the client
  • Perform system-level checks, functional testing, and performance verification across a range of electrical and control systems
  • Prepare and maintain clear, detailed commissioning documentation, including test records, issue logs, and sign-off reports
  • Interpret and work from electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, and layout plans with a high degree of accuracy
  • Uphold and enforce all relevant health, safety, and compliance standards across commissioning activities
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by contributing technical insights and feedback to design and installation teams

Your Profile:

  • Fully qualified electrician (completed apprenticeship or equivalent trade certification)
  • Strong site experience, preferably in commercial or industrial settings
  • Exposure to or interest in commissioning activities is desirable
  • Skilled in reading and understanding electrical schematics and installation standards
  • Effective communicator with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
  • Fluent in English; German language skills are an advantage
  • Travel to customer sites within the Frankfurt region required; international travel will also be required on a project by project basis.
  • Valid driver’s license
