Hanley Energy are currently looking for a skilled Controls/Automation Engineer to join our team and play a significant role in project design, development and delivery for our multinational clients. This is a permanent position with progression opportunities at both local and international level.
Responsibilities Include:
- Design and develop PLC Code & HMI Applications based on given requirements and specifications.
- Interpret electrical design drawings for automation system requirements.
- Power up electrical systems and configure hardware per application specifications.
- Interpret client requirements for GUI/Communication Interface and Networking.
- Troubleshoot existing systems.
- Review, repair and redesign legacy code.
- Technical writing including Software Management Plan (e.g. SDS, SRS, Test Plan, Traceability Matrix, Operating Manual, Troubleshooting Guide, Spare Parts List)
- Close interaction with other engineers to work on projects, issues and solutions
- Work with Sales Engineers to support quote preparation as required.
- Provide both remote and on-site support to clients as required
Requirements:
- 3-5 years supporting PLC, SCADA, HMI and PC controlled systems
- Relevant 3rd level engineering qualification
- Experience in Design\Development\Troubleshooting automation systems
- Proficiency in Rockwell Automation Logix500, Studio5000 and Ignition SCADA
software will be a distinct advantage
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Excellent communication skills with fluent English
- Full Valid Irish work permit is essential
- Travel will be required in this role, therefore full clean driver’s license is essential.

Location: Dundalk/Hybrid – 2 days a week in office.
