Meet Robert Curley, Technical Sales Engineer (Stamullen, Ireland)
I put together a pricing package for electrical equipment that helps run the data center industry.
I joined Hanley Energy as a team lead on the production floor, building panels. As a qualified electrician, I’ve always had a leadership role in most of the positions I’ve held – whether as a foreman or a team lead on the floor. Now, I’ve been given the opportunity to explore the business side of the company.
If I had to explain my role to a friend with zero technical background, I’d say that we take a customer’s idea, bring it into design, produce the drawings, cost those drawings, prepare the proposal, and then provide the customer with a complete solution that meets their requirements.

Meeting deadlines is critical. If a proposal is expected by a certain date, you need to deliver it on time without delays.
My proudest moment was winning my first job. Submitting a proposal and then receiving a purchase order back with the proposal value on it – that was a great moment.
What sets Hanley Energy apart from other companies is that there’s always a person there to deal with. You can always pick up the phone, and there will be someone there at the other end of it. If they need to change anything, we can be dynamic. We have got a great design and engineering team that can take customer ideas and turn them into products.
When I talk to friends and family about working at Hanley Energy, I find myself highlighting the great environment, the sense of a good team, the support that Hanley Energy give you. The quality of the people you’re working alongside helps elevate yourself as well.
