Responsibilities:
- Create and update detailed manufacturing routings, including process steps, equipment requirements, and resource requirements.
- Ensure that routings align with engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering production and quality teams to optimize routing efficiency and minimize costs.
- Conduct time studies to accurately determine process times and resource requirements. • Use time study data to optimize routings and improve productivity.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of manufacturing processes, including routings, work instructions, and quality plans.
- Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant personnel.
- Analyse and evaluate existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Research and select appropriate manufacturing equipment, ensuring compatibility with production requirements.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot manufacturing problems, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and quality, to achieve project objectives and support overall business goals.
Requirements:
- Completed a level 8 or masters degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience within a manufacturing, configure to order or design to order environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, including lean manufacturing, process optimization, Flexible manufacturing systems and quality control.
- Proficiency in using CAD/CAM software and manufacturing simulation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma and knowledge of automation and robotics would be an advantage
