As a PMO Analyst specializing in electrical engineering and critical power systems, your role will be pivotal in supporting the delivery of complex technical projects within the energy management and data centre electrical domains. You will apply your electrical engineering experience to ensure efficient project execution, with a strong focus on critical power systems, electrical infrastructure, and data centre operations. Collaborating with program and project managers, you will provide technical oversight, support planning, and monitor the successful delivery of electrical projects aligned with Hanley Energy’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Project/Program Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track the progress of electrical engineering and critical power projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and technical milestones.
- Develop comprehensive reports and technical dashboards for senior management and stakeholders, providing insights into the performance of electrical and power system projects.
- Maintain and oversee Risk Registers, Change Registers, Issue Logs, and Visual Management Systems with a focus on critical power and data centre electrical infrastructure.
Technical Data Analysis:
- Analyse and interpret data specific to electrical engineering projects, such as load capacity, power distribution, and system efficiency, identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare in-depth, data-driven reports that cover essential metrics like electrical resource utilization, compliance with safety standards, and adherence to technical project timelines.
Governance, Compliance & Technical Standards:
- Ensure all electrical engineering and critical power projects comply with Hanley Energy’s project management frameworks, industry regulations, and technical standards.
- Keep precise documentation to support internal audits, especially for electrical safety, power distribution compliance, and data centre electrical protocols.
Resource Management & Technical Capacity Planning:
- Monitor the allocation and utilization of technical resources, such as electrical engineers, power system specialists, and field technicians, across various electrical and data centre projects.
- Assist in capacity planning to ensure optimal deployment of engineering resources, focusing on critical power systems and data centre electrical operations.
Tool & Systems Management:
- Administer and manage project management tools with an emphasis on the accurate input and tracking of electrical project data, system design documents, and power system specifications.
- Provide training and user support for team members on project management systems related to electrical project execution and critical power monitoring.
Continuous Improvement in Electrical Systems & Processes:
- Support efforts to enhance PMO processes, templates, and standards for better delivery of electrical engineering and critical power projects.
- Assist with technical post-project reviews to capture lessons learned, focusing on improving electrical design processes, data centre power efficiency, and future system enhancements.
Requirements to Apply:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or related technical field.
- 2-3 years of experience in a PMO Analyst or Senior Project Support role with a focus on electrical engineering, critical power systems, or data centre electrical projects.
- Solid understanding of both project management and technical aspects of electrical systems, power distribution, and energy management.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex electrical data, power system schematics, and engineering specifications to produce actionable project insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in technical report creation and engaging with stakeholders in the electrical engineering and data centre sectors.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP, MS Excel, and Power BI for analysing electrical project performance and reporting on technical metrics.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, JIRA) and electrical design tools or CAD software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple complex electrical tasks and technical project deadlines effectively.
- Experience in resource management and capacity planning for engineering teams working on critical power, data centre electrical infrastructure, or large-scale electrical installations.
Technical Competencies & Experience:
- Deep understanding of electrical systems, critical power solutions, and data centre electrical operations.
- Familiarity with power distribution networks, UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems, backup generators, and electrical safety standards.
