SCADA Development Engineer

We are currently looking to expand our Engineering team with a Graduate SCADA Development Engineer who is eager to develop their skills and contribute to innovative automation and SCADA projects in the Data Centre environment.
As a key member of our team, you’ll work on designing, developing, and supporting cutting-edge SCADA systems, contributing to the success of multiple projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and support SCADA systems, including databases, database interfaces, data analytics & reporting, scripting (Python, C#, VB, etc.), and general programming
  • Contribute to the development of Industrial IoT implementations related to Ignition SCADA systems
  • Assist in SCADA Mimic Development and Tag Database Development
  • Participate in the testing and commissioning of developed SCADA systems
  • Provide day-to-day support for deployed SCADA systems and troubleshoot issues as needed
  • Collaborate with customers, listening to their needs and proposing innovative solutions using the latest technologies
  • Prepare technical documentation, including SCADA Operation & Maintenance manuals, training materials, URS, FDS, project plans, and more

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • A relevant engineering degree (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field)
    • Practical experience gained through internships, part-time work, or academic projects related to SCADA systems, automation, or control systems
    • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C#, or similar (no extensive experience required, but a willingness to learn is essential)
    • Knowledge of SCADA systems, ideally Ignition (Vision and Perspective modules) is a plus
    • Understanding of databases (MS SQL) and web technologies (HTML5, MQTT) is an advantage
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve issues
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
    • Full valid Irish work permit (Stamp 4 preferred) and a clean driving license are essential
    • Willingness to travel occasionally, as required for the role
