We are proud to invest in a wide and unique range of sponsorship avenues: from art awards showcasing the very best Irish artist talent, to our support for young Irish Cricket players.
We put a lot of thought into our sponsorship partners with unique and interesting sports and talents outside the mainstream. At Hanley Energy, our sponsorships are niche, inclusive, international, creative and endurance driven.

Overall Sponsor
We at Hanley Energy proudly gained main sponsorship over Irish Cricket since 2015, and sponsorship of the women’s senior side specifically from 2017 – 2023. In March 2022, the women’s team announced their professional status. We were thrilled to be part of the team’s journey to professional status and excited for what these ambitious plans will empower the team to achieve.
Shared Ambition
We have a shared ambition with Cricket Ireland to grow the game on the island of Ireland. We are very proud that our support encompasses women’s, men’s and the Cricket Ireland game at all levels. Now with the sponsorship extension, we look forward and remain focused on supporting the transformation of our next generation of elite players. Irish Women team captain Laura Delany sees Hanley Energy as a lucky omen for the team, given past success.
“We would like to thank Hanley Energy for their continued support over the last couple of years. Their ongoing investment in the Irish women’s team means we have been able to double our fixture list during the last two years. More fixtures against the best sides means more opportunities for us to grow and develop as players and ultimately as a team.”
Laura Delany, Irish Women Team Captain
SHECANDO2021
Lead Sponsor
We were thrilled to join the #SHECANDO2021 campaign this year as the lead sponsor. Karen Weekes became the first Irish female to row solo 3,000 miles across the Atlantic, on February 28th 2022 after 80 days at sea. Karen is also now the 20th woman to row any ocean on the globe solo.
As part of her #SHECANDO2021 campaign, Weekes focuses on women’s empowerment, alongside the UN sustainable development goals relating to gender equality, ocean conservation and sustainability. Karen is no stranger to endurance and has sailed the Atlantic twice, circumnavigated both Ireland and the Lofoten Islands off Norway in a kayak, and has cycled solo and unsupported 4,000 miles across Canada, through Alaska and the Yukon, and across the USA as a pair. She has also solo cycled from Nordkapp in Northern Norway to Helsinki in Finland. If that’s not enough, she has also trekked in Nepal and Pakistan and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya.
Having Hanley Energy on board as a lead sponsor is such an important part of the SHECANDO2021 campaign. The fact that members of the Hanley Energy management team are watersport and outdoor enthusiasts means they have a genuine understanding of what is involved in undertaking something like rowing solo across 3,000 miles of Ocean. Their drive, expertise and desire for professionalism truly matches the psyche and ambitions of SHECANDO2021.”

The Hanley Energy Sustainability Excellence Award – for distinction in Landscape
We are proud to sponsor the Hanley Energy Sustainability Excellence Award at the RHA Annual Exhibition in support of emerging and established Irish artists. Our practices within Hanley Energy thrive on innovative advancements in empowering sustainability practices.
For this competition, artists are tasked with creating images that will enhance progressive values towards the environment and engage the viewer regarding the critical importance of environmental sustainability.
Entries are judged based on the theme, artistic merit, design, originality, technical excellence, and content.
Award Winners:
The Hanley Energy Sustainability Excellence Award 2024 – for a landscape of distinction
Winning Entry: “Co-Workers (Second Home)” by Colin Martin
The striking realism and ambitious linear composition is highly technical and impactful. A feeling of optimism permeates this energetic biophilic space. On trend, these innovative green co-working spaces are not only transforming traditional office landscape but are positively contributing to a more sustainable future. As we approach critical thresholds for our planet, the demand to accelerate a sustainability transformation has never been greater.

The Hanley Energy Sustainability Excellence Award 2023 – for a landscape of distinction
Winning Entry: “Another Ship of Fools” by Dan Dowling PRUA
A highly expressive composition of considerable emotional dept. This deft satirical depiction captures the ever-increasing and worrying vicissitudes placed on our planet! A very worthy winner. Huge congratulations Dan!

The Hanley Energy Sustainability Excellence Award 2022 – for a landscape of distinction
Winning Entry: “Edging on Chaos” by Taffina Flood
An energetic composition where organic abstract strokes and spontaneity invites the viewer to engage with the artist existentially.
Aline Gilmore – Hanley Energy Selection Committee
This exceptional thought provoking contemporary work was an overwhelming favourite by the Award Selection Committee and satisfied the full criteria of the Award brief.
Although, admittedly we are on the “edge of chaos” regarding proactive measures to avoid the catastrophic impacts of Climate Change; Taffina’s piece gives some hope that a fleeting window still exists to avoid the worst possible outcome.
The Hanley Energy Sustainability Excellence Award 2021 – for a landscape of distinction
Winning Entry: “Upheaval” by Vera Klute
An unsettlingly landscape worth a Thousand Words! Far from a healthy habitat this stalwart symbolic but somewhat melancholic piece, I believe is intended to potentially convey a sense of hopelessness, disarray and discontentment within the given context. Once again, we are overwhelmingly reminded of Nature’s Power; but are we too late to restore the Upheaval?

The Hanley Energy Sustainability Excellence Award 2020 – for a landscape of distinction
Winning Entry: “Alternate Reality” by Blaise Smith
In the face of climate change and the exhaustive strain on our natural resources; the artist effectively imbues a reflective questioning tone within this idealised landscape. Far from the anthropocentric view, Nature evokes an impressively strong and engaging presence in this composition, guarded by an empathetic truth concerning our existential existence. Brushstrokes are impactual and purposeful but respectfully question the veritable forces at play within an alternate reality.

The Hanley Energy Sustainability Excellence Award 2019 – for a landscape of distinction
Winning Entry: “Moonlight, Lugnaquilla” by Séamus O’Byrne
RL Sailing
Lead Sponsor
We are also delighted to be the official sponsor of the Irish shorthanded, offshore sailing team, RL Sailing, made up of skippers Kenneth Rumball and Pamela Lee. Our support has guaranteed that the team made it to the starting line in critical races in the 2021/2022 competition calendar – the Tour de Bretagne à la Voile and and the revered Rolex Fastnet Race to name a few.
It’s extremely motivating to have an Irish company like Hanley Energy onboard with our project. They really understand and support the hard work we have put in and are encouraging of our dreams and ambitions to represent Ireland on an international level.

Solo Sailor Gregor McGuckin
Hanley Energy empowered solo sailor Gregor McGuckin to circumnavigate the Globe
In 2018, we joined forces with Gregor McGuckin who competed in the incredible non-stop, round the world, solo sailing race, the Golden Globe Race after preparing for almost two years. We were thrilled to join the project as the headline sponsor.
The team was called ‘Gregor McGuckin Empowered by Hanley Energy’ and the boat was renamed at a launch and send-off ceremony in the National Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire to become ‘Hanley Energy Endurance’.
Gregor’s yacht, the Hanley Energy Endurance, was dismasted in a storm while attempting to reach his fellow competitor Abhilash Tomy, who had sustained injuries after being capsized. In a remarkable display of seamanship, courage and fortitude, Gregor managed to build a jury rig and hand steer the Hanley Energy Endurance within 30 miles of Abhilash’s yacht for four days in order to be on site to assist with the rescue.
Republic of Ireland Taekwon-Do Association
Partnership with Republic of Ireland Taekwon-Do Association
We have also partnered with The Republic of Ireland Taekwon-Do Association as the main sponsors of the organisation. Dennis Nordon, MD and co-founder of Hanley Energy said the company continues to recognise world-class potential and is delighted to be an advocate of the Republic of Ireland Taekwon-Do Association.
Hanley Energy are very excited about forging strong links to a relatively young, evolving sport with exemplary ambition and a future that is, like ours, on an upward curve. Our aim with RITA will be to support at both an elite and grass-roots level, as the sport continues to grow across the country. We recognise a shared vision and ethos with RITA, we are delighted to be able to champion excellence and assist them in nurturing real international potential. We are looking forward to many exciting years ahead as sponsors.”
