Technical Trainer

The Technical Trainer plays a key role in supporting Hanley Energy’s global training programme. Reporting to the Technical Training Manager, this role focuses on delivering high‑quality technical and product training, both internally and to external partners, and on developing clear, effective training materials to support consistent learning across regions.
This position suits someone who enjoys hands‑on technical work, clear communication, and international travel. The ideal candidate will have an electrical background or commissioning/controls experience combined with a passion for helping others develop their skills.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a practical, hands‑on Technical Trainer with solid experience in electrical, controls, or commissioning environments. You may have worked as an electrician, technician, or commissioning engineer, and you enjoy helping others learn—whether apprentices, new starters, or experienced technicians building new skills.
You can break down complex engineering principles into clear, simple explanations, using real‑world examples and demonstrations to make learning engaging and accessible. Your communication style is patient, supportive, and confident, and you take pride in helping people develop their competence safely and effectively.
You’re organised, reliable, and collaborative, with a positive approach to working with colleagues across Engineering, Commissioning, Product Management, and regional teams.
If you’re a natural teacher with strong technical experience and a passion for developing others, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real impact across Hanley Energy’s global training programme.
