Meet Derek Sanchez, Warehouse & Logistics Manager (Ashburn VA, United States)
Within my role I’m supporting two companies simultaneously – Hanley Energy and Hanley Energy Electrical – providing support and delivering our product to our client, as well as supporting our electrical contractors’ needs.
On a day to day, we receive all goods (whether it’s small parcels or shipments) and we organize the logistics to our clients’ sites, either locally with our truck drivers or using LTL shipments to get it out of the state regions. We also maintain our facility’s infrastructure, vehicle maintenance, and dealing with any kind of truck or training rig that arrives on site. Making sure they’re all in good order, always ensuring that we receive the proper product as described.

When I first started at Hanley Energy, I noticed that there is an image – you can always tell when a product comes from Hanley Energy by the way it’s crated or packaged. There’s just a lot of effort that goes into our products and it shows!
I’ve had a few different roles and I’ve received a lot of support and help from Logistics Manager Eddie Keyes. He’s set a great example of how to maintain composure while dealing with the logistics world. He reminds me constantly that some things are just out of our control, and all we can do is learn what needs to be learned to avoid the same circumstances in the future.
I’ve had a few of my proudest moments while being with Hanley Energy. We’re in the act of physically expanding and I’ve set up two new warehouses within the company, so it’s always exciting to see us grow and be able to put in my two cents.
