Hanley Energy are delighted to announce the opening of a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and business operations in Loudoun County Parkway, Ashburn, Virginia USA.
The announcement was made at the new site by co-founders Clive Gilmore, President and Dennis Nordon, Vice President and was officially opened by The Honorable Barbara Comstock, Congresswoman for Virginia’s 10th Congressional District on Friday, 18th of March.
Speaking at the official opening, Congresswoman Comstock said:
“We welcome Hanley Energy, an Irish-based energy firm, to Loudoun today. Hanley works with the data center industry and is a significant sign of 21st Century jobs coming to our community.”
Congresswoman Comstock was joined by a delegation of local, state and federal government representatives – including representatives from the Irish Embassy – were on hand to welcome the company’s leaders.
Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade, Maurice Jones assured Hanley Energy executives they would get invites to Governor Terry McAuliffe’s famed St. Patrick’s Day parties at the Executive Mansion, and assured local representatives that more company’s like Hanley would follow.
He commented: “Hanley Energy adds greatly to the value proposition Loudoun County put forth and are a major asset to us for us to recruit more data center growth in the region.”
The move into the US market represents a significant investment in future growth as well as being the next step in the evolution of the Hanley Energy brand. The Northern Virginia landscape, known worldwide as ‘Data Center Valley’ provides an excellent base to serve the needs of Hanley Energy’s global customer base from.
Alan Gibbons, Head of the Irish Embassy Economic Section added:
“We are really delighted that an innovative, world-leading Irish company has chosen Loudoun County as the cornerstone of it’s International growth strategy, and it’s really no coincidence given we are in the heart of the US data center infrastructure and ecosystem.”
The new facility has a number of innovative features, developed in conjunction with Hanley Energy’s existing data center research and development hub at their Irish headquarters.
Dennis Nordon, Co-founder and Vice President of Hanley Energy LLC said he was impressed by the teamwork of Loudoun’s Economic Development Department in moving the project forward, endorsing Congresswoman Comstock’s claims, in which she labelled Buddy Rizer and his team the best in the commonwealth.
He added: “We made a decision to come to Loudoun County six months ago and today, we are open and are actively doing business in the region, which is quite incredible. Steve Hargan and the Loudoun County department of Economic development has helped us prove the unachieveable can be made achieveable.”
